She also sent a multitude of goodies. I love it all, but especially the Dracula bag and the needle magnet. I use my current needle magnet, but I've looked for more attractive ones. Marie found one! If I had seen this one, I would have bought it myself! It's a little ghost and pumpkins--so cute!
Marie even stitched up something for Logan--a whole bunch of bibs. She is truly generous. Thanks, Marie, I love it all!
Baby update: We're doing the breastfeeding, pumping, and supplementing with formula. I think I'm actually producing less milk now. I'm getting very discouraged about the whole thing and am about to say forget it. Here's a new pic of the boy--think he'll be a model someday?

Hope things get better. There's no point making yourself miserable if the breastfeeding isn't working, but there may be other solutions. Brigitte and I had a terrible first six weeks (not gaining weight, thrush, bleeding) and I was ready to give up. Things turned around dramatically once I found a real lactation consultant (ILCA.org). The local nurses had basic training, but weren't experts, and we got some unfortunate advice. Definitely worth the try IMO if there is one in your area. I've learned a lot in the last 7 mos, happy to help if I can. Best of luck to you all.
I'm sorry to hear about the breastfeeding troubles. I had them with my first. After a week I threw in the towel. He was 9 lb. 9 oz. when he was born, and he seemed to eat constantly. That he could never seem to eat enough just made my postpartum depression worse. I am happy with the decision I made.
With my second (much smaller) son, I breastfed him until he was nine months old and started biting me. When I put him on formula, it felt right, too.
In the end, you've just gotta do what's right for you and the baby, and no one can tell you what that is but you.

I'm a "lurker" of your site, but I've been following your pregnancy/birth.
I had supply issues with my first (like I didn't make any) The only sort of pump that worked for me was a hospital grade pump. I would also suggest finding a real lactation consultant or calling up the La Leche League. The "latctation specialists" at the hospital (pro breastfeeding) provided were pretty much a laugh. Emilie's comment regarding a lactation consultant is a great bit of advice. We also had some unfortunate advice from nurses with our second child and I had a very difficult and discouraging experience. To supplement my milk flow, I drank herbal teas that contained herbs that will stimulate milk flow. It helped. Try not to get discouraged - the feeding, however it's done and whatever you're feeding him, is a primary opportunity for bonding. Try to just enjoy dear little Logan. :) Sending you big hugs and best wishes.

I agree with finding a lactation consultant. I had issues with A and the specialists at the pediatrician's clinic helped out a lot.

Oh, I love the bibs! And Logan is *gorgeous!* I gave up breastfeeding after about two weeks, for various reasons. I don't regret it as such, because it made for a happier household all around but I do wish I'd called a La Leche League consultant first. All I will say is you need to do what's best for your family. (hugs)
It sounds like you've had pretty much all the same issues with Logan as my sister had with my niece M - jaundice, colic, milk supply problems...
It *will* resolve itself - M is now 18 months, and I've never known a happier, healthier and more switched on baby! My sister - with help from a breast feeding specialist from La Leche League managed to feed M until she was nearly a year old, and M is one hungry child :o)
