I finally managed to pick up my two HAED quick stitches from the framer Saturday. I figured that they took so much work that they deserved a professional frame job. The top one is Beauty and the Beasts QS, and the bottom one is Dragon Soul QS. I'm not sure I like that the bottom one isn't centered in the mat. The framer said she'd offset it a bit, but I didn't think she'd do it that much. What do you think, honestly?
Pregnancy: Last night one of my breasts started hurting in one spot. I know they're supposed to be sore, but I didn't expect a sharp pain.

They are beautiful! I like the offset matting, it gives it a little more interest. Congrats on getting them framed and hung. Beautiful stitching!
Oh wow, those framed pieces are gorgeous. I think both look great.
I think both framed pieces look great - I like the offset matting too.
I also really like your Rose Quilt - I hadn't seen that one as a WIP before and it is really more beautiful than I was imagining. Might have to succumb to that one eventually now! :)
I absolutely love the framing for Beauty and the Beasts - the mat is perfect. It looks gorgeous :)
Dragon Soul looks lovely too. I probably wouldn't have thought twice about the offset picture if you hadn't said something. It looks good to me :)
I like the off set, it makes it look like the stitching is a photograph. And it adds interest, all your other cross stitches are framed with the mat (or just frame) equally spaced right? The matting on Dragon makes it just enough different to give it some oomf that it doesn't have being black & white.
Great framing! :)
I think the framing looks great. When I used to work in a framing store we often framed artworks for galleries with offset matts, from what I understood it was fairly standard way to do things for art.
If it really bugs you though you coudl always look at getting an engraved plate to put in that space with the art work name and artist.
your HAEDs are gorgeous!!!!!
Wow, what stunning pieces. I love them both. Before I even read what you wrote I thought was a good idea to offset the mat the way she did. So obviously, I like it. Great job.
They're both beautiful! At first glance I didn't understand the offset mat. But once I looked at it (after I finished reading) I think it's perfect!
They're beautiful and you can definately tell that you put a LOT of work into them!
I'm not quite sure what I think of the offset matting. I understand the concept but ... I dunno. I don't want to be the only dissenter here. It's still beautiful no matter what. I'm w/Cynthaea, maybe an engraved plate. Or even something XS'd w/HEAD name. Or maybe I just have no taste at all. :o)
Beautiful stitching!!! And I totally love the framing ....gives it a fresh perspective and focus to the stitched piece! Congrats!
Your QS's are stunning! I especially love the top one - she has such a pretty face!
